Below are the solutions to the four pre-game puzzles.
The introductory letter to investors had a clear reference to hidden information on the web site.
More information regarding these confirmed visitations is available on this web site, but only for those who know where to look… The visitation occurred near Nsige-Se, a small village known for the pious and holy nature of its inhabitants. The precise location was nine kilometers, eighteen meters, and four centimeters from the beginning of the town.
Nsige-Se is actually an anagram for GENESIS with specific instructions to look at the fourth word of 9:18. That word is NOAH, and this revealed a hidden bonus page at http://www.isetv.com/noah/.
The NOAH page contained four confirmed alien sightings (corresponding to the third, fourth, eighth, and thirteenth log entries) to be used in the final transmission. It also contained another hidden clue. Amongst the prose are references to numerous elements:
AL Aluminum TI Titanium M Magnesium (broke in two, second half fell away) ET Tellurium (backwards) ER Erbium
Thus the players were told to bring an ALTIMETER which would ultimately prove to be quite useful in the orienteering clue.
The Biography of Claus Horof contained a hidden clue based on movies and their directors. The hint to look for this was the prominent coloring of Director.

The last names of the directors spell out DEAD LANGUAGE which indicated that the players must bring a Latin or perhaps Ancient Greek dictionary. As it turned out, a Latin dictionary was useful for translating the first and second log entries.
Finally, on May 15, the players were informed of an urgent message from Claus. The gratuitous references to “exactly 5PM” and the “fair-skinned” receptionist were hints to the nature of this puzzle. This was actually a PLAYFAIR CIPHER which is based on a 5x5 grid omitting the letter J. The key was ISETV yielding the following grid:

The hint here was to bring a musical instrument for use in this clue. The messages translates (and cleans up) as follows:
I AM ALIVE BUT ANXIOUSLY AWAITING MY RELEASE SINCE THE FEDERAL RAID ON NEW YORK OFFICE A WEEK AGO I HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED TO GRUELING INTERROGATION HOURS ON END WITH MANY TRUTH SEEKING TECHNIQUES I HAVE SO FAR WITHSTOOD THEIR QUESTIONING NOT DIVULGING THE LOCATION OF OUR INVESTOR MEETING OR OUR PLANS TO GREET ALIEN VISITORS I HAD TO TAKE THE RISK OF SENDING THIS LETTER TO ISETV AS THERE IS SOMETHING EVERY INVESTOR MUST KNOW SHORTLY BEFORE THE RAID I FOUND DATA SUGGESTING THAT THE ABILITY TO PLAY MUSIC THROUGH AN INSTRUMENT WILL BE CRITICAL TO COMMUNICATING WITH THE ALIENS PLEASE INFORM OUR INVESTORS I HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CLAUS
