Each series of numbers is actually a decimal representation of a fraction. The question marks are missing numbers in the series. Once obtained, these missing numbers map ordinally into the alphabet to yield the message, GO TO THE BOW.
Unfortunately, this puzzle proved slightly tougher than expected, so many teams never actually solved it. Rather, they resorted to physically searching the vessel until they found the clues hidden at the Bow.
