Players had to determine which cards were played from the North. Any card above ten (a “general”) was disregarded. The clue instructed players to place the cards in order of suit (alphabetically) and then in order of descending rank. The result was a seven-digit phone number. The clue also told them that the number to call was in the county of New York (Manhattan), and at the time, the only Manhattan area code was 212.
