The final message was SW Corner Big Bear Dam, otherwise known as Bear Valley Dam.
Arriving to the site after dark, several teams were unable to complete the orienteering course. ISETV gave these teams the option of either waiting at Santa’s Village for 20-30 minutes and then calling back for the next location. Or, they could try to navigate the flat first third of the course in the dark to get the location in less time from ISETV.
One team without walkie-talkies and only a few flashlights chose the latter option. As as result, they briefly ‘lost’ several team members in the orienteering course and called ISETV in a panic. Fortunately, all team members were found, and they were able to move to the next location.
